Lecture Announcement

We invite the students of the Faculty of Construction Management at Union – Nikola Tesla University, as well as all interested parties, to attend a lecture by Professor Željko Torbica, one of our most renowned professors and a former dean of prestigious universities in the United States. The lecture will take place at our University on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the amphitheater on the 9th floor.

Dr. Željko (Z.) Torbica has over 35 years of international experience, including leadership positions at several leading American universities. He served as Head of the School of Construction Management Technology at Purdue University (2019–2022); Dean of the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology (2012–2019); and Director of the Construction Management Program at Drexel University (2009–2012). In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Torbica has extensive experience as a practitioner and business executive in engineering, construction, real estate development, and strategic planning.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards, delivered keynote addresses at international conferences, and published research papers in top-tier academic journals. He has managed projects ranging from $50 million to $550 million, served on the Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners, and completed executive programs at Columbia University and Harvard University.
Dr. Torbica holds a Ph.D. in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality, a certified general contractor in the state of Florida, and holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Quality Engineer (QE) certifications.
