MODELING

MODELING is a subject in the second year of basic academic studies directed by prof. Dr. Vladimir Stevanović. In this course, students are trained for direct contact with the physical and three-dimensional representation of architecture in a certain scale. Teaching takes place in the form of lectures and exercises. During the lectures, students are introduced to reputable examples of made models and the possibilities and effects of certain materials, while during the exercises they work on their own projects, which are formulated through three semester assignments. The name of the first task is OBJECT and it refers to a concrete and realistic representation within the given topic - a single-family residential building on a field with an arbitrary slope. The name of the second assignment is CONCEPT and it refers to abstract and experimental work with form and materials within a free topic that students choose according to the existing architectural typology. The name of the third task is MODEL and it refers to making a mock-up model, in relation to examples of famous works of contemporary architecture. At the submission of semester assignments, student works are evaluated based on factors such as: compliance with the requirements of the assignment, quality of the idea and formal-artistic aspects, quality and precision of production, adequate choice and combination of materials, overall visual effect and architectural model.
