Doctoral academic studies Management of sustainable development lasts three years and carries 180 ECTS. Of these, 150 ECTS are earned by taking exams in teaching subjects, 20 ECTS by passing the theoretical foundations of a doctoral dissertation, and 10 ECTS are earned by preparing and defending a doctoral dissertation. The value of the doctoral dissertation (drafting and defense) is 10 ESPB points.

Doctoral studies are based on the scientific and research work of participants during which they acquire competences and knowledge according to international standards, the needs of science, higher education and the economy. The study program consists of 2 compulsory subjects and 4 blocks of two elective subjects, of which the student chooses one.

Mandatory subjects are NIR Methodology and Sustainable Development, which are taken in the first year of the study program.

The elective block in the first year consists of the following subjects: Strategic Financial Management, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Modeling of Development Processes, Risk Assessments and Management of Environmental Systems, Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Efficiency, Mathematical and Statistical Methods in Management, and Information Technology Management.
In the second year of the study program, the compulsory subjects are: Development of an innovative organization, Development policy and strategy, Globalization and socio-economic development, Research and publication of papers - SIR and Doctoral dissertation - theoretical foundations - SIR.
In the third year, the mandatory subjects are Doctoral Dissertation - Study Research Paper 1, Doctoral Dissertation - Study Research Paper 2 and Doctoral Dissertation - Preparation and Defense of Doctoral Dissertation.

Method of teaching: Features of the study are individual approach to doctoral students, emphasis on interdisciplinary knowledge needed for research and implementation of sustainable development, current and research topics of seminar papers, project assignments, workshops, case studies, etc. The student profiles his research interest by choosing the subjects he will study and take, which contribute to detailed knowledge and understanding of the field (topic) of his doctoral dissertation. Elective subjects are chosen from the groups of proposed subjects in the study program itself. Teaching subjects (compulsory or optional) are taught as a group or individual (mentoring). The decision on the type of teaching and optional subjects to be organized is made by the Head of Doctoral Studies on the proposal of the committee for the quality of the study program (study group).

Doctoral studies will ensure the creation of a strategic partnership between the Faculty, the University and the economy, and the inclusion of participants in doctoral studies will enable the gradual connection of research and development units in the economy, the establishment of joint research and education based on them between universities, scientific institutes and the private and public sector. which are the strategic goals of the development of science in the Republic of Serbia.

Studies are considered completed when the student fulfills all obligations prescribed by the study program, successfully defends the doctoral dissertation and collects 180 ESPB points. Doctoral studies cannot last longer than 10 years.
