Prof. Stefano Capolongo – Guest Lecture “Design and Health”
The Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Construction Management, Union – Nikola Tesla University, had the honor of hosting a distinguished guest – Professor Stefano Capolongo, architect and full professor of Hospital Design and Urban Health, and Director of the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. Professor Capolongo delivered a lecture titled “Design and Health”, where he discussed the design of sustainable, flexible, and resilient hospitals and healthcare facilities, as well as factors and assessments related to wellbeing aspects in public buildings. The lecture also emphasized the human connection with nature and living systems, green and blue infrastructure, which has been proven to improve both mental and physical well-being.
Professor Capolongo’s lecture was held as part of the ongoing collaboration between Union – Nikola Tesla University and the Politecnico di Milano – Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering. This cooperation is focused on developing joint research projects in the fields of architecture and construction between Italy and Serbia, particularly on topics related to the design and management of the built environment and architectural heritage sites. Founded in 1863, the Politecnico di Milano currently has over 48,000 students and is a leading scientific-technological university that has played a key role in Italy’s scientific and technological development.
